Promoting infrastructure-related collaborations between organizations in Japan and Texas.
The Japan -Texas Infrastructure Investment Forum, hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism
(MLIT) Japan in partnership with the Texas Economic Development Corporation (TxEDC), will create a unique opportunity to
bring participants together to share expertise and build a foundation for future business.
The first forum was held in Washington, D.C., in January 2018, followed by a second forum in Indianapolis, Indiana. The third forum will take place in Austin, Texas on February 6, 2020. The cooperative relation between Texas and Japan is becoming ever stronger since the bilateral meeting between Governor Abbott and Minister Akaba of MLIT in Tokyo in September 2019. In addition, the economy of Texas is growing rapidly and many Japanese companies are successfully operating in the state’s business-friendly environment.
Public-private partnerships (PPP) and Smart City programs and initiatives in Texas will be introduced at the forum and Japanese companies engaged in these areas will highlight their expertise and experience. This networking opportunity will promote infrastructure-related collaborations between organizations in Japan and Texas.
